Branch spokesman Captain Paweł Biskupik said the detentions took place during temporary border checks and operations conducted inside the country.
“These individuals committed various crimes and offenses in Poland. They included violating a court‑ordered driving ban, fraud, money laundering, drug possession and driving under the influence of alcohol,” he said.
He added that all five foreigners left Poland on Wednesday, August 12, under Border Guard escort. Each received a multi‑year ban on re‑entering Schengen states.
Since the beginning of the year, officers from the Nadodrzański Branch have detained nearly 450 foreigners deemed a threat to public safety and order. Most were citizens of Ukraine and Georgia. All were ordered to leave Poland and issued multi‑year Schengen entry bans.
Temporary border controls with Germany and Lithuania have been in place since July 7, 2025. Under the latest Interior Ministry regulation, they will remain in effect until October 1, 2026. Germany has conducted similar controls on its border with Poland since October 16, 2023.
The Nadodrzański Border Guard Branch operates along the Polish‑German border in the Lubusz and Lower Silesian voivodeships and along the Polish‑Czech border in Lower Silesia. Its officers also serve at the airports in Poznań‑Ławica, Wrocław‑Strachowice and Zielona Góra‑Babimost.
