Shortly before noon the Polish head of state took part in a meeting with businessmen under the motto “Fostering innovation and economic growth."
That was followed by a working session on “Generating growth for Central and Eastern Europe.”
The day’s events also included a dinner hosted by Klaus Schwab, a German economist who is the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum.
Poland's Duda is expected to hold talks with a slew of international decision makers during the annual event in the Swiss Alpine town.
On Wednesday, the Polish president is scheduled to address a debate on the economic vitality of Central and Eastern Europe and take part in an informal meeting of world economic leaders focusing on geopolitical risks in an unsettled world.
Duda's schedule at Davos also includes several bilateral meetings, including with the president of Azerbeijan, Ilham Aliyev; the executive director of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol; the secretary general of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Thomas Greminger; the CEO of Ericsson, Börje Ekholm; and a special UN envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen.
On Thursday, President Duda will participate in sessions and meetings entitled Transatlantic alliance: a new architecture for US-EU relations, The future of NATO, and Opportunities and benefits for Central and Eastern Europe and investors.
He will also meet NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.
The World Economic Forum is being held for the 50th time. It runs until Friday.
