The Poles will be further flown by military airplanes to Poland’s southern city of Wrocław, where they will be monitored by the health service, spokesman for the Polish health ministry Wojciech Andrusiewicz told state news agency PAP.

The fast-spreading coronavirus outbreak has killed over 300 people so far. It has triggered alerts in countries around the world and rattled global markets.

The epicentre of the outbreak is Wuhan, a city of 11 million in Hubei province.

China’s National Health Commission said there were new confirmed infections in China on Saturday, bringing the total to 14,000, Reuters news agency reported on Sunday.

According to Reuters, the Chinese data would suggest the virus is less deadly than the 2002 outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), which killed nearly 800 people of the some 8,000 infected, although such numbers can evolve rapidly.
