He appealed to Polish political parties not to use the international coronavirus outbreak to score points.
Senior officials have said there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus yet in Poland, but have warned that it is a matter of time before it appears.
"The legitimate anxiety of Poles is easy to amplify by hasty comments, through irresponsible comments on the Internet,” Morawiecki told deputies during a parliamentary session focusing on the coronavirus.
He added: “Various Twitter comments or conspiracy theories are very dangerous because they… increase social anxiety."
The coronavirus, which originated in China and which has spread across the world, has infected nearly 90,000 people and killed more than 3,000.
