Citing what is said were “unofficial” sources, PAP reported that Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska would step aside to allow Warsaw mayor Rafał Trzaskowski to enter the fray in her place.
PAP reported that Kidawa-Błońska would officially quit the presidential race on Friday.
Kidawa-Błońska’s approval ratings have plunged from over 20 percent in February to a mere 4 percent in April, PAP added.
Poland's presidential election had been scheduled for Sunday but failed to go ahead amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed 869 lives in the country.
Parliamentary Speaker Elżbieta Witek is soon expected to announce the date of a new election.
