The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 428 people with pre-existing medical conditions, and 119 who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said in a tweet.
A total of 691,118 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Poland since the pandemic began, and 10,045 have died in connection with the COVID-19 respiratory disease so far, public health officials announced.
Poland’s prime minister said this week that millions of vaccines against the coronavirus were likely to reach his country next spring as part of a European deal with drug makers.
The European Union on Wednesday struck a deal to buy up to 300 million doses of a potential coronavirus vaccine from US pharmaceutical firm Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech.
