Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has told reporters that the initiative will aim to stimulate the country’s development through budgetary, tax, investment and monetary instruments.
The cost of the plan has not been revealed yet, public broadcaster Polish Radio's IAR news agency reported on Monday, adding that the programme would be partly financed from European Union funds.
'Very big changes'
Officials cited by the agency said the initiative would see a number of "very big changes," and that it was comparable to flagship projects launched by the ruling conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party in recent years.
Government spokesman Piotr Müller said that the “New Deal” would be unveiled at the end of February or the beginning of March.
Poland on Monday allowed shopping malls, museums and art galleries to reopen amid signs of a let-up in the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.
