Of the new cases confirmed on Monday, 1,831 were in the densely populated southern coal-mining region of Silesia.
Meanwhile, 1,809 new infections were reported in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
The southwestern province of Dolnośląskie, which is home to the major city of Wrocław, had the third-highest number of new infections confirmed by officials on Monday, at 1,214.
The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 46 people with pre-existing medical conditions and 15 who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.
On Sunday, Poland confirmed 245 deaths and 21,703 new coronavirus infections nationwide, compared with 749 deaths and 24,856 fresh cases a day earlier.
On Thursday, April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.
Poland’s second-highest number of daily cases was when 35,143 new coronavirus infections were confirmed nationwide on March 26.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
33,990 in hospitals, 362,823 quarantined
The health ministry announced on Monday morning that 33,990 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 3,483 of them on ventilators, with a further 362,823 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,197,782 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, including 26,481 over the last 24 hours, the health ministry also said.
