Over 10 million vaccines administered in Poland

A total of 10,069,710 COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in Poland so far, officials announced on Saturday.

Poland had injected more than 7.5 million first doses, while 2 543 112 people have received a second shot, health ministry data showed.

The country, so far, received  11 387 600 doses of the COVID 19 vaccines, authorities have informed.

Polish prime minister's top aide, Michał Dworczyk, who is spearheading the country's COVID-19 inoculation campaign, wrote on Twitter that the national vaccination campaign is gaining momentum and Poland may reach the target of 20 million vaccinations by the end of June.

Poland launched its vaccination programme on December 27 . Early this week the authorities announced the speeding up of the inoculations, by setting up  new mass vaccination centers, one in each of  Poland’s 16 provinces.

On Monday Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that, by May 10th , all adult Poles would be given an opportunity to schedule an appointment to receive a vaccine.

He added that the government aimed to inoculate all those who want to have a vaccine by August.
