Of the new cases confirmed on Thursday, 492 were in the densely populated southern coal-mining region of Silesia.
Meanwhile, 464 new infections were reported in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
The western province of Wielkopolskie, which is home to the major city of Poznań, had the third-highest number of new infections confirmed by officials on Thursday, at 382.
The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 254 people with pre-existing medical conditions and 88 who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.
On Wednesday, Poland confirmed 343 deaths and 4,255 new coronavirus infections nationwide, compared with 256 deaths and 3,098 fresh cases a day earlier.
On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
13,497 in hospitals, 115,045 quarantined
The health ministry announced on Thursday morning that 13,497 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 1,772 of them on ventilators, with a further 115,045 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,584,751 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, including 2,232 over the last 24 hours, the health ministry also said.
