Of the new cases confirmed on Tuesday, 244 were in the densely populated southern coal-mining region of Silesia.
Meanwhile, 204 new infections were reported in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
The central province of Łódzkie, which is home to Poland's third-largest city of Łódź, had the third-highest number of new infections confirmed by officials on Tuesday, at 159.
The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 172 people with pre-existing medical conditions and 73 who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.
On Monday, Poland confirmed 11 deaths and 1,109 new coronavirus infections nationwide, compared with 55 deaths and 2,167 fresh cases a day earlier.
On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
11,145 in hospitals, 101,013 quarantined
The health ministry announced on Tuesday morning that 11,145 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 1,418 of them on ventilators, with a further 101,013 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,609,216 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, including 3,515 over the last 24 hours, the health ministry also said.
