Meanwhile, a crisis management team met on Monday to discuss what a senior official in Warsaw has called a "scandalous" decision by the Court of Justice of the European Union.
The Luxembourg-based court said on Friday that further lignite extraction at the Turów mine in southwestern Poland could have a negative impact on groundwater levels in the neighbouring Czech Republic, which had initiated the case.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told reporters on Monday that his government would try to negotiate with Prague and “present new arguments” to the EU court.
