The Polish health ministry announced on Monday morning that 20,521 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 1,820 of them on ventilators, with a further 633,857 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.

Niedzielski told a news conference last week that the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic was expected to reach its height in Poland in early December, with up to 35,000 daily cases.
