"Since February 24, a total of 1.83 million people have crossed into Poland from Ukraine," it said in a tweet.
On Monday alone, 71,600 refugees from Ukraine arrived in the country, according to the Polish Border Guard.
While most of those crossing the border are Ukrainian nationals, there are also many citizens of Asian and African countries among the refugees, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency has reported, citing the foreign ministry in Warsaw.
Poland’s President Andrzej Duda on Saturday signed into law a measure to offer wide-ranging support to Ukrainians escaping the Russian invasion of their country, which began on February 24.
The Polish government earlier this month launched a special online platform to coordinate humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine by local authorities, nongovernmental organizations, foundations and private businesses.
