Jacek Siewiera, head of the Polish president's National Security Bureau (BBN), told reporters that the three-hour meeting, led by Duda, was attended by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and his defence and interior ministers, in addition to other officials responsible for security.
The discussion focused on "the current security situation" and the West's assistance to Ukraine as the country battles Russia's invasion, according to Siewiera.
He told the media that those taking part discussed continued Polish assistance to Ukraine. He added that Poland "is one of the leaders among Western countries in terms of the support it provides and will continue to provide" to Kyiv.
Siewiera also said that "national security and the capabilities of the Polish armed forces are the most important aspect and top priority" for the Polish head of state.
He added that the gathering at the presidential palace in Warsaw discussed "projects that will be carried out in the near future in a planned manner in the field of allied policy, such as joint troop exercises and Poland's stance for the upcoming NATO summit, as well as preparations for the summit later this year."
Meeting participants also included the chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces and the heads of the country's security services, including the Foreign Intelligence Agency (AW), Military Intelligence Service (SWW), Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), and the Internal Security Agency (ABW), according to Siewiera.
Monday was day 320 of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
