On Sunday, thousands of spectators gathered at Warsaw’s Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie and Tadeusz Kahl Square to enjoy a range of events, including an 8-meter installation showcasing the heads of 28 Polish crowned kings, inspired by Jan Matejko’s Portraits of Kings and Dukes of Poland.
The "Millennium of the Polish Crown" event featured three sections focused on the Middle Ages, modern times, and the future, with a notable display of military equipment, including American M1A1 Abrams tanks and South Korean K2 GF tanks.
A historical parade, led by the Polish Army’s orchestra, symbolized 1,000 years of Polish history, although environmental activists briefly attempted to block the procession.

The celebrations culminated with a concert featuring top Polish music stars, including Organek, Kayah, Król, Bovska, Halina Mlynkova, Doda, Stanisław Soyka, and Grzegorz Hyży.
This was followed by a stunning 10-minute multimedia drone show, the largest in Poland’s history, which illuminated the sky above the Vistula River, showcasing 1,000 drones and highlighting key symbols of the Polish nation.
"Let Poland reach for the stars!"– wrote Poland’s Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, in a comment about yesterday’s celebrations on his X (formerly Twitter) profile.
Originally planned for Saturday, the events were rescheduled to Sunday due to a national day of mourning following the death and funeral of Pope Francis.
Among the drone visuals displayed over Warsaw, there was no shortage of iconic symbols, including the Polish hussar - a renowned cavalryman known for his distinctive feathered armor and significant role in Poland's military history - and the legendary Solidarność logo, representing the Solidarity movement, a major force behind Poland's fight for freedom and democracy during the 1980s.
