Tragic bus accident on Warsaw–Odesa route claims three lives near Lviv

A tragic accident occurred early Friday morning on the Warsaw–Odesa route, involving a bus, a postal truck, and several cars, leaving three dead and dozens injured.

The crash took place on the Lviv bypass near the village of Czyszki, according to the Ukrainian news outlet Ukrainska Pravda.

Maksym Kozitskyi, the governor of Lviv Oblast, reported that the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on the M-06 highway. Ukrainian emergency services are attending to the wounded, with local media confirming that 35 people have been injured. Earlier reports from regional authorities indicated 27 injuries and one confirmed fatality.

Among the deceased were one of the bus drivers and two other drivers involved in the crash, according to emergency responders. However, Ukrainian media are reporting slightly different details, identifying the victims as the driver and a passenger of the postal truck, as well as a passenger on the bus.

“Today, October 11, at approximately 6:30 a.m., a serious accident occurred on the Lviv bypass near the village of Czyszki on the M-06 highway. It involved an international bus traveling from Warsaw to Odessa, a truck belonging to the Nova Poczta postal service, and several passenger cars. Traffic is completely blocked,” Governor Kozitskyi said in a statement.

By 8:40 a.m., authorities confirmed the deaths of three individuals, with 35 more sustaining injuries, including six children. Eleven medical teams were dispatched to the scene to provide immediate assistance to the injured. Local police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
