France claimed the top spot in the European Commission's 2024 Open Data Maturity report, with Slovakia coming in third, behind Poland.
The worst performers were Bosnia and Herzegovina; Albania; and Malta.
Poland led in categories such as openness policy, the impact of open data, and data sharing, the Ministry of Digital Affairs said.
This year's Open Data Maturity report evaluated 34 European countries, including the 27 EU member states; three European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries: Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland; and four EU candidate countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Serbia, and Ukraine.
The annual report assesses how individual countries make public sector information available and encourage its reuse, in line with the EU's 2019 Open Data Directive.
