On Christmas Eve morning, Polish President Andrzej Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda extended holiday greetings to Poles at home and abroad, accompanied by the traditional highlander folk group Zbójnicek from the village of Ząb in the Podhale region of southern Poland.

“Christmas is the celebration of fulfilled hope - may all your plans and aspirations come true, and may you have many joyful opportunities to celebrate together,” the presidential couple shared.

At noon, the Polish government joined in extending Christmas greetings. Just before Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed hope that Polish families would find peace and a sense of security during Christmas Eve, despite the challenging times.

Donald Tusk assured that the government remembers all those serving on Christmas Eve, safeguarding the nation’s security and providing care for those in need, particularly at the borders and in public hospitals.

After sharing holiday wishes, the Prime Minister and his ministers joined in singing a traditional Christmas carol together.

PM Tusk has openly shared his experience performing one particular Christmas carol. The well-known Polish song, Wśród nocnej ciszy (In the Silence of the Night), was sung by him in 1996 during an appearance on Szansa na Sukces, a hugely popular TV show where amateurs took on the roles of professional singers.

The Prime Minister's 1996 performance, from a special Christmas episode of the show, was later shared by the Polish Prime Minister's Chancellery.
