“Aircraft are arriving, and passengers for departing flights are being checked in,” the airport said on X (formerly Twitter).

However, monitors displaying flight details remained offline.

Passengers with flights scheduled for Friday were asked to head to the airport as planned but to verify gate and departure details via the airport’s website or airline channels.

Early morning failure

The power outage occurred around 3:30 a.m. local time during scheduled system testing, according to airport spokeswoman Anna Dermont.

Airport staff immediately began work to restore functionality, but the disruption caused "difficulties in the handling of passengers and aircraft," Dermont told Poland’s PAP news agency.

By 7 a.m., essential systems were largely operational, Dermont said.

With the flight information displays still down, officials were urging passengers to check updated gate and schedule details via the airport’s website or the platforms of individual airlines.

The airport stressed that it sees no evidence of external interference causing the outage, saying the incident resulted from an internal systems failure.
