According to the Reuters news agency, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski, has accused Russia of attempting to recruit Poles via the dark net to spread disinformation and influence the country’s upcoming presidential election.
Gawkowski said that Russian intelligence services, GRU and FSB, were offering EUR 3,000-4,000 (USD 3,130-4,170) for such activities and that Poland has been observing these attempts since the start of the year.
Poland previously identified a Russian group tasked with election interference and blames its role as a key supply hub for Ukraine for making it a target for espionage and sabotage by Russia and Belarus.
Moscow and Minsk have denied the accusations.
