"Poland strongly condemns the latest Russian attacks on Ukraine," the Polish foreign ministry said on Sunday.
"Russia must be held accountable for the deaths of Ukrainian civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure," it added in a statement posted on the X social media platform.
"Moscow’s recent actions show its goal remains continued war, not peace," the post also said.
A Russian missile attack on Kyiv killed one man and injured three other people overnight into Sunday, causing damage and fires in several districts, according to Ukrainian officials.
The strike was the first large-scale attack using missiles and drones since the United States said late last month it had negotiated two ceasefire accords with Russia and Ukraine, including one that would halt strikes on each other's energy infrastructure, the Reuters news agency reported.
'Putin does not want to end the war': Zelensky
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said ongoing attacks showed Russia did not want to end the three-year-old war.
"Putin does not want to end the war — he is looking for ways to preserve the option of reigniting it at any moment, with even greater force," he said in a message on X.
"That’s exactly why all forms of pressure on Russia must continue: strengthening our ability to defend ourselves, maintaining sanctions, and ensuring that diplomacy — any conversation with Moscow — leaves no opportunity to kill," he added.
"If there is a ceasefire, it must be unconditional — one that does not allow for the destruction of life," Zelensky also said.
He continued: "Ukraine has agreed to the United States’ proposal of a full, unconditional ceasefire. Putin is refusing. We are awaiting a response from the United States—none has come so far, and we also expect a response from all in Europe and around the world who truly want peace."
In a separate statement, Zelensky said that "the pressure on Russia is still insufficient, and the daily Russian strikes on Ukraine prove it."
He added that over the past week, Russia had launched "more than 1,460 guided aerial bombs, nearly 670 attack drones, and over 30 missiles of various types against Ukrainian cities and villages."
On Friday, a Russian air attack killed at least 19 people, including nine children in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih, Zelensky's hometown, according to reports.
