Mateusz Morawiecki made the appeal ahead of his trip to London and Oslo amid the continuing Russian invasion of Ukraine, news agencies reported.

The PM told a media briefing he would talk to allies such as Great Britain and Norway about strengthening NATO’s eastern flank and ways to destroy Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war machine.

“We can dismantle Putin’s war machine only by means of very strong and firm sanctions,” he said, as quoted by the state PAP news agency.

In London, Morawiecki is scheduled to meet his counterparts from fellow Visegrad Group countries (Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic) before being hosted by the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, officials told reporters.

Later in the day, the Polish PM will travel to Oslo for talks with the Norwegian head of government Jonas Gahr Støre, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
