The package would be the single largest allocation to Kyiv since Russia's invasion six months ago, the Reuters news agency reported.
It cited an anonymous US official as saying that the new aid package would use funds from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative appropriated by Congress to allow Joe Biden's administration to procure weapons from industry rather than taking weapons from existing US stocks.
Washington has provided USD 10.6 billion in military assistance to Kyiv since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, according to Reuters.
