Matteo Bruni, the Director of the Holy See Press Office, has said that Pope Francis has been diagnosed with viral bronchitis but his condition is improving.
Bruni said the Pope spent the afternoon resting, praying and seeing to some work.
The Pope is being treated at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. Doctors there conveyed that, "based on a foreseeable course, the Holy Father could be discharged in the coming days."
