The ITRE Committee is a major committee within the European Parliament, and it was led by former Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek (PO) from 2014 to 2019. This committee has been involved in legislative processes concerning gas supply security, industrial policy, and the energy union.
The committee’s Vice-Chairs are MEPs Cvetelina Penkova (S&D, Bulgaria), Elena Donazzan (ECR, Italy), Giorgio Gori (S&D, Italy), and Yvan Verougstraete (Renew Europe, Belgium).
The foundational meetings for the European Parliament’s standing committees and subcommittees were held in Brussels on Tuesday, following the appointment of their members during the plenary session from July 16-19.
During these foundational meetings, each committee and subcommittee selected its bureau, including a Chair and Vice-Chairs, for a term of two and a half years.
