Singapore is at the top of the global ranking, enabling their passport holders to travel visa-free to 195 destinations worldwide, CNN reported.

Further down the top 10 list, Japan, Germany, France, Italy and Spain are tied in second place, while South Korea, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Ireland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands are all together in the No. 3 slot, according to the cnn.com website.

The UK is in fourth place, alongside New Zealand, Norway, Belgium, Denmark and Switzerland, while Australia and Portugal share the No. 5 spot, according to a report by London-based global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners.

The firm's Henley Passport Index, based on data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), has been regularly monitoring the world's most travel-friendly passports since 2006, CNN reported.

Poland shares sixth place with Greece, with access to 188 destinations visa-free, while Canada, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Malta are tied at No. 7, followed by the United States in eighth position, with 186 destinations.

Afghanistan sits at the bottom of the index of 227 countries and territories. Its citizens can access just 26 countries without requiring a visa in advance, CNN reported.
