The appointment of Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz as a new Member of the European Parliament was officially confirmed by Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Parliament, during the opening of the latest session in Strasbourg.

"I am confident that my knowledge and experience will be useful for both Polish and European affairs. You can count on my dedication and hard work," Gronkiewicz-Waltz assured via social media.

As previously reported by Radio Poland, the process of Gronkiewicz-Waltz assuming her MEP position required numerous formal steps.

Ultimately, the European Parliament acknowledged her new role during the session on October 21, after Marcin Kierwiński’s mandate had officially expired, a step which also required confirmation by the Polish Sejm.

In the European elections, Gronkiewicz-Waltz, running from the same Civic Coalition (KO) list in the Warsaw district, secured the fourth highest result with 94,474 votes.
