The film, entitled Polish Traces in Breda, marks the 80th anniversary of the city's liberation from the Nazis by the Polish 1st Armoured Division under Gen. Stanisław Maczek.
The liberation of Breda, a key transport junction in the Netherlands, was one of the most impressive achievements of Maczek’s 1st Armoured Division, according to the Polish foreign ministry.

After several days of intense fighting, the city was liberated on October 29, 1944.
Following Maczek's decision, his soldiers did not use heavy artillery or air support during the fighting to save the city from serious damage, the Polish foreign ministry said.
Polish Traces in Breda, a production by the Polish embassy in the Netherlands, narrates the story of the courage and sacrifice of the Polish soldiers in the dark days of WWII.
