"We will defend our homelands and every inch of NATO," says Polish Minister of Defense

Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, highlighted during the ceremony marking the change of command of the Multinational Corps in Szczecin that this city, located in the northwest of Poland, has been an important NATO hub for the past 25 years. Since Poland joined NATO, allied forces have been stationed there.

During the event, General Dariusz Parylak, a Polish officer, was announced as the new commander of the NATO Corps in Szczecin, taking over from German General Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart.

Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the security situation in the region has changed significantly, with an increase in the number of allied troops stationed in Poland.

The Minister stressed that NATO must now send a clear signal of unity and readiness to defend every inch of its territory. He pointed out that both NATO and the United States have repeatedly declared their commitment to defending every part of the Alliance.
