The visit includes a meeting with Polish government ministers and senior parliamentarians focusing on the priorities of Poland’s upcoming EU presidency, according to an announcement.

While in Warsaw, Metsola is also expected to hold talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and parliamentary Speakers.

Metsola, re-elected as European Parliament president in July, previously visited the Polish capital in August, when she and Tusk discussed support for Ukraine and the EU legislature's priorities.

During a two-day visit to Warsaw in February, she praised Poland's leadership within the EU, calling the country "the beating heart of European values" in an address to Polish senators.

Polish government officials have said that the country's six-month rotating EU presidency in the first half of 2025 will focus on priorities including Ukraine's EU accession.
