The most important issue will be combating illegal migration, which has been recognized as the number one priority among EU interior ministers.
Siemoniak emphasized that new policies and solutions are needed in this area, and the EU supported Poland with over 50 million EUR, which will be allocated for the protection of the external border.
Another priority for Poland will be fighting organized crime, including human trafficking, drug trafficking, and the production of new substances.
A further key area of focus will be population protection, rescue operations, and humanitarian aid.
The minister also announced a meeting of interior and justice ministers at the end of January in Warsaw.
Poland's presidency in the European Union Council will begin on January 1, 2025, and will last for the next six months.
