Minister Radosław Sikorski emphasized that Poland recognizes Palestine and supports a two-state solution.
“A plan by the United States to provide security for the people in Gaza could be considered,” Poland’s top diplomat stated via social media.
„Individual states will not solve the great challenges of our time. We have to act together,” Sikorski stressed on Wednesday at the EU Ambassadors Conference in Brussels.
"It's a temporary solution," says Trump’s associate on Gaza resettlement
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that President Donald Trump's proposal to resettle Gaza’s population would be a temporary solution, according to BBC.
The proposal, which aims to resettle two million Palestinians from Gaza, has faced criticism from the UN, human rights groups, and Arab leaders.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt clarified that the U.S. does not plan any military intervention in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz suggested that Gazans should be allowed freedom of exit and immigration, but offered few details on how this would be implemented.
This follows President Trump’s announcement on Tuesday, after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, where he proposed that the U.S. would "take control" of Gaza in the long term, with its residents being resettled in Arab countries.
Donald Trump wants Gaza Strip to become a "Middle Eastern Riviera"
Trump framed this plan as a way to break the cycle of violence in the region and rebuild Gaza into a "Middle Eastern Riviera" with international status. However, it has been rejected by Middle Eastern countries.
As reported by the BBC, the confusion caused by Trump’s controversial statement could threaten the fragile ceasefire in Gaza.
