"It’s up to Ukraine to decide whether to keep fighting," Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said on CNN a day before the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion. During his U.S. visit, he also met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The head of Polish diplomacy rejected comparisons between Ukraine and Czechoslovakia in 1938, stressing that unlike then, Ukraine is actively defending itself and has strong allies.
Poland's top diplomat highlighted Ukraine’s military achievements, including securing the Black Sea, destroying most Russian tanks, and ramping up drone production.
Minister Sikorski also recalled that Ukraine once surrendered its nuclear arsenal for security guarantees, which Russia later violated.
With continued European support, he argued, Ukraine can hold off Russian aggression throughout the year, forcing Putin to reconsider his strategy.
