According to Qatar-based Al Jazeera, Israeli airstrikes on Sunday night targeted the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. A fire triggered by the attack completely destroyed the hospital’s surgical ward.

The Polish Medical Mission reports that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has severely deteriorated over the past week.

"This undoes everything achieved during the first six weeks of the ceasefire. Gaza has once again become hell on earth," said Małgorzata Olasińska-Chart from the organization in a social media statement last Thursday.

Since March 18, the Israeli offensive has resulted in over 600 deaths and more than 1,000 injuries, with 70% of the casualties being women, children, and the elderly, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. Al Jazeera reports at least 51 deaths in the last 24 hours alone.

More than 50,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, since Israel launched a military campaign in the strip in response to a cross-border attack led by the Palestinian militant group Hamas on 07 October 2023, in which about 1,200 Israelis were killed and more than 250 taken hostage.
