In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Tg24, Tajani, who is also Italy's deputy prime minister, said "Russian threats against NATO, and recently against Poland, are provocations aimed at intimidating others". He added: "But no one is intimidated by statements from Kremlin officials. We need to work toward peace. Of course, Poland has our full solidarity. What's more, I will emphasize this again tomorrow in Ankara, where a meeting of foreign ministers in the E5 format will take place. I will confirm our friendship, closeness and solidarity with Poland".

Tajani was responding to Peskov's comments Sunday, in which the Kremlin spokesman said Warsaw "should think carefully about its security". Peskov, quoted by the Italian news agency Ansa, also said "there is nothing good" about Poland hosting "many companies producing drones that are sent against us and that attack our soldiers". He said Russia's defense ministry had "already published the addresses" of those companies.

According to Ansa, Peskov's remarks came a day after media reports said the United States had warned Poland that Russia was considering an armed provocation. Peskov dismissed those reports as "scare stories" he said were circulating in Western media.
