Donald Trump sent a special video-message to participants of the recent Polish American Congress event in Washington. The recording was shared on social media on Sunday by U.S. Ambassador to Poland Tom Rose.
The U.S. President thanked the Polish-American community for its support during the 2024 election - and highlighted the historic contribution of Poles to the defense of American freedom.
"It is a great honor for me to welcome Polish-Americans from across the country to Washington, as you celebrate 250 years of Polish contributions to America" - Trump opened his speech.
In his further remarks, he recalled the figures of General Kazimierz Pułaski and Tadeusz Kościuszko, who fought on the side of the American colonists during the War of Independence. "From our War of Independence to the present day, Polish-American patriots have helped defend American freedom" - the U.S. President emphasized.
Later in his speech, Trump spoke about his vision for the United States. He also referred to the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, underlining their friendship and dubbing the Polish president "unbelievable", a "great fighter", a "strong person" and a "winner".
At the end of his three minute video, Trump once again thanked the Polish-American community for its involvement in the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
