The Turkish president said on Tuesday his country would oppose the plan unless the Western military alliance backed it in classifying a Kurdish militia as a terrorist group.
That announcement from Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent shockwaves throughout the alliance as leaders gathered for an anniversary summit in London.
