“This extraordinary time calls for an extraordinary attitude and actions. Today, more than ever, we need to stay united and help each other,” Szynkowski vel Sęk said.

Under the Polonia4Neighbours initiative, the Polish Foreign Ministry lends support to assistance projects and efforts carried out by Poles living abroad and “promotes solidarity with local communities,” the ministry said on its website.

The initiative allows Polish community organizations to join local campaigns and help others in supporting their home countries amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A total of 10,759 people have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease in Poland, with 463 deaths from the coronavirus so far, officials said on Friday morning.
