Mark Brzezinski unveiled the news in a media interview on Wednesday night, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Outlining the details of Biden’s trip to Poland from February 20 to 22, Brzezinski told private broadcaster TVN 24 that the US president would make his address on Tuesday, February 21, at 5:30 p.m. in the Warsaw Royal Castle’s Kubicki Arcades.
‘President Biden looks after Poland’
Speaking in Polish, Brzezinski said: “It’s a historical moment. Never before has an American president come to Poland twice in the space of one year.”
He added: “President Biden looks after Poland, looks after you and looks after your security. He has been impressed by how the Polish people have welcomed refugees from Ukraine.”
The US envoy further said: “Of course President Biden will meet with [Polish] President [Andrzej] Duda. There will be a meeting with B9 [Bucharest Nine group of eastern-flank NATO allies] and we shall see what else.”
He added that Biden’s visit “is a great honour for us.”
Brzezinski said that the central message of the US president’s speech would be that the United States will stand with Ukraine “for as long as it takes.”
He stressed that America won’t leave Ukraine alone, won’t stop, won’t retreat and will be supporting Ukrainians for as long as necessary, the PAP news agency reported.
The US envoy added that his country would also protect those who support Ukrainians, “such as Poland,” and “every inch of land.”
Brzezinski also relayed Biden’s message that “everyone’s invited” to his speech in Warsaw next week.
The US head of state is due to arrive in Poland on the evening of Monday, February 20, address the Polish people on Tuesday, February 21, attend the B9 summit on Wednesday, February 22, and also hold bilateral talks with the Polish president, the ambassador said.
Thursday is day 358 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
