The official invitation was conveyed during a recent meeting between the two leaders in Russia's Far East, where the two leaders discussed a range of strategic matters.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that Putin has likely accepted the invitation.

The leaders met in Russia's Far East this week, where Kim voiced unequivocal backing for Russia's actions, including its Ukraine invasion and its confrontational stance towards the West.

North Korean media highlighted mutual desires to amplify strategic cooperation against perceived military threats and "imperialist tyranny."

Photographs from their meeting at the Vostochny Cosmodrome reveal Kim was joined by key figures, including a navy admiral and the chairman of the state committee on space science and technology.

South Korean sources identified these officials as spearheading North Korea's ambitions for spy satellites and nuclear-missile-carrying submarines.

Kim's visit to Russia includes a tour of an armaments factory producing Sukhoi military aircraft in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

Despite speculation about North Korea supplying weaponry to Russia for Moscow's Ukraine offensive, experts doubt Pyongyang's capacity to deliver significant wartime aid.

Instead, North Korea's focus remains on securing energy and food supplies from Russia.

In related news, North Korea launched two ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan on Wednesday, with Japan saying they did not land on its territory.
