Situation at the Latvian-Russian border "serious"

Latvia has warned that the situation at its border with Russia has become "serious".

Latvia has become the latest country to sound the alarm about the situation with its border with Russia.

As we reported yesterday, Finland has decided to close its entire border with Russia in response to "organised" migration from or via Russia. The Finnish government issued a statement that Russia has "weaponised" migrants as part of its "hybrid warfare". 

Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina said her country is ready for various developments and President Edgars Rinkeviczs said that Latvia has been coordinating its border control with all allies bordering with Russia.
