Republicans nominate Trump for president

Donald Trump has been officially nominated as the Republican candidate for the U.S. presidential election in November, securing nearly 2,400 votes.

J.D. Vance was chosen as his running mate.

The nomination was confirmed through a roll call vote, with delegates highlighting their states' unique aspects. "President Donald Trump has received 2,387 votes," announced House Speaker Mike Johnson.

This will be Trump's third presidential run, following his 2016 victory and 2020 defeat. He is set to accept the nomination on Thursday night.

Trump makes public appearance post-assassination attempt

Two days after an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump appeared at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. He did not speak, but was met with standing ovations and chants.

With a bandage on his ear, Trump took the stage to listen to speeches from supporters who praised his previous administration, emphasizing better economic conditions during his tenure.
