It said on Monday that air travel remained available in the area and confirmed that Poland was prepared for potential evacuation if needed.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises that if you do not absolutely need to remain in Lebanon, it is recommended to leave the affected area," the Polish foreign ministry said on social media.

"At the same time, we inform you that air travel in the region remains available," it added.

Due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, Polish diplomats have long advised against traveling there and said that the government in Warsaw is prepared for the evacuation of Polish citizens if necessary.

On Friday, the Polish foreign ministry issued travel warnings for Lebanon, Israel and Iran.

On Sunday, the US and UK authorities urged their citizens to leave Lebanon.

"Poland is prepared for any eventuality if the conflict in the Middle East escalates, although we hope for de-escalation," Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Adam Szejna said on Monday.

"As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we reiterate our warnings about traveling to Lebanon and emphasize in our communications with Polish citizens that if remaining in Lebanon is not absolutely necessary, it is advisable to leave the threatened areas," he added.
