He explained on TVN24 that Poland’s high defense spending - nearly 5% of its GDP, second only to the U.S. within NATO - makes it an attractive ally for Trump.

Trzaskowski believes Poland is indispensable in NATO security discussions and expects Trump to make rational security decisions, favoring countries that take responsibility for their own defense.

He added that former U.S. Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher will likely play a key role in Trump’s plans.

Trzaskowski, who may run in Poland’s presidential election next year, has not ruled out his candidacy.

Through social media, the politician congratulated Trump on his victory, expressing hope for strong cooperation and counting on continued U.S. commitment to European security, NATO, and support for Ukraine, as well as a show of unity and strength from Europe.
