In June alone, just under 300,000 passengers used the airport, an 8.9% rise from June 2018.
Sited on a former military airfield, Modlin was opened in 2012 as a low-cost alternative to Warsaw Chopin, the capital’s main airport.
Modlin’s opening was plagued by infrastructure problems, which took time to resolve.
The snags led to European budget airline Wizz Air abandoning Modlin airport. Budget airline Ryanair is currently the only carrier to provide regular flights out of Modlin.
But the airport has recently attracted interest from tour operators and charter airlines.
