Polish inflation at 15.5% in July: flash estimate

Inflation in Poland stood at 15.5 percent in year-on-year terms in July, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in a flash estimate on Friday.

The reading was 0.1 percentage point higher than forecast by economists polled by Poland’s PAP news agency.

In Junethe prices of consumer goods and services in Poland were 15.5 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier, according to the Central Statistical Office

In MayPoland's consumer price index stood at 13.9 percent, the statistics agency has said.

The Polish central bank’s Monetary Policy Council this month raised key interest rates for the 10th consecutive time in a bid to tame inflation.
