Sales of clothing and shoes increased 25.2 percent last month in year-on-year terms, and those of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics rose by 11.1 percent, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
Meanwhile, sales of furniture, household appliances and consumer electronics decreased 4.3 percent, and those of motor vehicles went down by 2.9 percent, according to Statistics Poland.
In terms of current prices, retail sales last month were 21.9 percent higher than in September 2021, Statistics Poland said.
In month-on-month terms, retail sales in September were 2.8 percent lower than in August, the statistics office also reported.
