The Czech Republic boasted the lowest jobless rate in the bloc in October, at 2.6 percent, while Malta was in second place, with 3 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.
Meanwhile, Spain had the highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU, at 11.2 percent, and Greek unemployment was the second-highest at 9.8 percent, according to the latest available data.
Eurostat reported that the EU average for October was 5.9 percent, stable compared with September and down from 6.1 percent in October 2023.
Poland's statistics office (GUS), which uses a different methodology, reported last month that the Polish jobless rate dropped to 4.9 percent in October, from 5 percent in September.
