Due to the upcoming long weekend in Poland, there will be a break in the Elixir payment system, as announced by the National Clearing House (KIR).
Since 2011, the Feast of the Three Kings on January 6 has been a public holiday in Poland. Participants in the traditional parades are usually given paper crowns to wear on their heads.

Monday, January 6, is a public holiday in Poland for the Feast of the Three Kings.

"This means that the Elixir settlement system, which handles interbank transfers in Polish złotys, will not operate as usual. Therefore, it is advisable to plan and initiate any payments due on that day in advance, or use the Express Elixir system, which is available for immediate transfers even on holidays," stated the official KIR announcement.

Those making payments should be aware that transactions initiated after 4:00 PM on Friday, January 3, will not reach recipients until Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Elixir is a secure interbank settlement system launched by KIR in 1994, which ensures data security through encryption and electronic signature verification.
